In the recent Top 100 Business Style event in 2020 - 2021, Businesswoman named Soojin Vo received the title of "Pioneer in health care with autologous stem cells", this is a recognition for her best dedication to the development of domestic medicine.

Ms. Soojin has more than 10 years of working for the Ministry of Health of South Korea, that time has brought her an opportunity to interact with the leading hospitals and experts in the Korean medical field, where there is an outstanding medical background in the Asia region. Since then, she has cherished a dream to become a connector of the healthcare industry between Korea and her country, contributing to promoting the development of Vietnam's healthcare industry.

When she returned to Vietnam as a representative of the Ministry of Health of South Korea, she connected South Korea's leading hospitals with the other ones in Vietnam to cooperate in transferring medical technology. Besides that, she also supported Vietnamese experts and doctors to come to South Korea to study and research science and technology.

At the same time, she is currently the founder of Mediway Korea Company and concurrently plays the role of the Head of Representative Office of the EHL Bio Korea Stem Cell Research Institute in Vietnam, which is a leading research institute and hospital in South Korea in the field of health care by autologous stem cells. In recent years, stem cells have been mentioned in many health-promoting products. Those are especially autologous stem cells, which are primitive ones, taken from the human body and then transplanted into that person. Autologous cells can self-produce other types of cells, helping to quickly heal wounds hidden deep under the skin.

In the body, stem cells have the ability of diversified differentiation into many different types of stem cells. Undifferentiated cells will have the ability to grow and help to delay the aging process. Stem cells help to maintain a healthy and energetic life.

Top 100 Business Style had a meeting to listen to her sharing for this project

Hi Mrs. Soojin, what chance brought you to this field?

Hi Top 100 Business Style, before coming to South Korea to study, I did not think that I would work in the medical and health-care field. I simply thought that at that time I was young, I needed to be challenged, that's why I didn't hesitate to do anything, it didn’t matter if the job was related to the career I studied or not, or if it made a lot of money or not? Whatever I can do in my power, I try to do my best.

Thanks to that, at that time those who worked as professionals in the medical industry saw me as a hard-working, enthusiastic and eager-to-learn person, that's why they gave me valuable working opportunities, to be able to promote all possibilities and create the "me" of today.

As you shared, you are the one to connect and transfer technology as well as Korean doctors to Vietnam and vice versa, so what are the challenges and difficulties in this job?

All jobs have difficulties and challenges, especially pioneering jobs such as accessing and transferring new technologies. It is especially persuading customers to accept and cooperate that has been a long way. But I always think about the work I do, and all for the benefit and satisfaction of customers, so I always learn to be patient and put lots of passion into the work as well as the role that I am pursuing. Only when I love my product, can I spread it to my customers.

Besides, the language difference is also a difficulty for experts when they want to convey something, then it is my responsibility to find out the information in advance so that I can be a connector to help the parties understand thoroughly and properly the issues they want to cooperate with.

So what application results will the Institute of Stem Cells and Immune Cells bring to individuals and the community?

EHL Bio Korea Research Institute started to research stem cells and immune cells in 2007, now it has obtained international certifications and stem cell culture licenses from the Korean and Japanese governments. The Branch network is present in over 30 countries. EHL Bio Korea Research Institute also cooperates with many prestigious universities in the world to jointly research the most advanced products and technologies to bring new miracles to the medical industry, humans, and society.

2020 is a difficult year for entrepreneurs around the globe, so how did you and your business overcome to maintain business activities?

Based on the collective spirit, enthusiasm, responsibility, and acceptance of difficulties from the team of employees working for EHL Bio Institute in Vietnam, they have overcome a year full of difficulties and unexpected events.

Moreover, the customers who have loved and trusted EHL Bio and still accompany us during the past difficult journey are the happiest source of motivation for our business to overcome all challenges.

What is your strategy in the next 10 years to develop Mediway Korea towards total health care for Vietnamese people?

My goal when establishing Mediway Korea is that this place will become a bridge between the leading hospitals of our country and South Korea to transfer advanced technologies, exchange research to be able to provide the best medical services, taking care of Vietnamese people’s health in general and business people in particular.

In addition to technology connection and transfer, Mediway also wants Korean investors in health and public health to come to Vietnam to invest and upgrade the quality of medical services in Vietnam.

It is known that you are such an active person in community activities, so what are those jobs in detail, ma'am?

After 12 years of coming back to Vietnam to live and work, besides the professional work linking the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and South Korea, I also join in community and volunteer activities. Especially among them is the Women Leaders International Networking, I have been active and currently kept the role of a consultant for WLIN Elite Club - a club under the Women Leaders International Networking and then being nominated in the Top 50 Typical Vietnamese Women Leaders of 2017.

Besides, I also regularly accompany Business Clubs for charity activities along with doctors and visit remote areas.
