autologous stem cells - the focus of regenerated medicine

Living healthy and living young is the eternal desire of mankind. That's why humans are constantly looking for new methods to actualize the aspiration of "rejuvenation".

Along with the science and technology explosion, the medical field has also made remarkable steps forward in researching and inventing methods of health and beauty care for humans. And one of those methods is the application of stem cells in health treatment and rejuvenation.

What are autologous stem cells?

In our body, stem cells are cells that can variously differentiate into many cells such as brain cells, skin cells, cartilage cells, bone cells, nerve cells, etc. Undifferentiated cells can grow up into organizations in the body that will help delay the aging process, thereby can become a certain and necessary source for the body to maintain a healthy life.

Stem cells have three basic characteristics:

- Effective return: When stem cells are injected into the body, they have the ability to find the damaged part to repair, rehabilitate, and regenerate.

- Self-regeneration ability: Stem cells can self-multiply into cells with the homogeneous ability and morphology as themselves.

- Ability of diverse differentiation: Stem cells can differentiate into diverse organs and organizations such as the heart, bones, nerves, skin, and liver in an undifferentiated state according to the body’s need.

Scientists currently divide stem cells into three types:

Stem cells from embryos: as stem cells from the embryos after 14 days when egg and sperm are fertilized, they can grow into all kinds of organizations and cells.

Adult stem cells: can be obtained from umbilical cord blood, adipose tissue, spinal cord, etc. Cells are undifferentiated but exist in the body's organizations that can differentiate into the necessary organization.

Induced pluripotent stem cells: A type of stem cells that induces cell differentiation through reverse differentiation by creating stem cell genes with completely mature characteristics.

The use of autologous stem cells in beauty and health treatment can be seen as a new revolution in medicine. Stem cells can regenerate damaged cells, help blood circulation by regenerating damaged blood vessels, regenerate into normal cells by differentiating damaged cells, and strengthen the immune system by improving the function of organs in the immune system as well as regenerate organizations in the body by promoting growing factors such as hormones, collagen, against death of cells in the body.

Especially, the treatment by autologous adipose tissue stem cells is considered to be the focus of regenerated medicine in the future to overcome aging problems, treat diseases, and prolong the life of humanity.

Rejuvenation and health treatment by autologous stem cells

Stem cells are now seen as a versatile miracle throughout the world in rejuvenation and health treatment. Based on the achievements of modern medicine, scientists have isolated and applied stem cells from autologous adipose tissue in the field of health care and beauty.

According to Dr. Lee Hong Ki, President, and CEO of EHL Bio Research Center of Diet Hospital, “Adult adipose tissue stem cells possess a special preeminent feature. If stem cells from embryos have a weakness that they can differentiate into all cell types, but face ethical problems and have the potential to mutate into cancer cells. In contrast, adult stem cells derived from adipose tissue, spinal cord, or cord blood can use safely without risk of disease or ethical issues. Among them, adipose tissue stem cells have many strengths and the most outstanding thing is that they can take cells in large numbers compared to other adult stem cells.”

Rated as the greatest doctor in the plastic surgery industry in South Korea, Dr. Lee Hong Ki is a leader in the research and application of stem cells from autologous adipose tissue into the beauty industry. He established the EHL BIO center belonging to DIET Hospital specializing in stem cells with the aim of therapy and development of treatment drugs by stem cells from adipose tissue, which is the focus of regenerated medicine in the future to overcome aging problems, health treatment, and prolong the life of humanity.

With over 30 years of rich clinical experience in stem cells, EHL BIO has now developed technology that can promote outstanding differentiation ability up to the 12th stage without genetic variation of stem cells by taking and dissociating approximately 20g of adipose sample, and then culturing a sufficient number of stem cells safely.
